How to plan a sensible top-up amount

You do not need to reload the maximum every time. Here is a quick reference.

HafilatPass accepts anything between AED 10 and 500 per request. The right figure depends on how often you ride and how long you'd like to go without thinking about the card.

Daily commuter

Two rides per weekday is roughly 10 rides per week. A common approach is to reload around AED 60 every two weeks — enough to cover a normal fortnight without emptying the card.

Weekend rider

If you use the bus mostly on Fridays and Saturdays, a smaller monthly reload of AED 30 usually feels about right — you never worry about running low on a longer weekend trip.

Two-person card

If you share a single card with a partner or a housemate, treat it as two daily commuters and reload around AED 120 every two weeks. Keeping a small buffer means the reader will not decline at rush hour.

A small note on presets

The presets on the top-up form (20, 30, 50, 100, 150) are quick shortcuts, not recommendations. Type any custom amount that fits your travel plan.
